The relationship between prostate cancer and impotence is one of great importance. Although it is not the actual cancer that causes impotence, but rather the treatments that are used to cure it. Medication is often prescribed for prostate cancer, and many medications are associated with certain side effects, including impotence.

It is therefore very important for any man diagnosed with prostate cancer to understand the issue of prostate cancer and impotence and become educated on a medication before starting on it. You should always talk to your doctor and see what they have to think, and get all the details you can on a prescription before taking it.

The radiation that is often used to treat prostate cancer can also result in impotence, and so you will need to be aware of this as well if you have prostate cancer and your doctor is recommending that you get the radiation therapy to try and kill off the cancer.

You do not have to deal with prostate cancer and impotence in your life, but if you have prostate cancer and your doctor tells you that you need to start taking medication, you are going to need to ensure that you know whether or not impotence is a common side effect.
